After high school, I went to Drake University in Des Moines and majored in Philosophy, Public Administration and Political Science. After that I avoided the real world by going to Graduate School at the University of Iowa. To further avoid getting a job, I threw a backpack on and bounced around Europe, North Africa and the Middle East for about 4 months. Lots of sleeping outside, and on trains.
When I finally did get a job I built cell phone networks for a few years, before heading back to Law School at the University of Illinois.
During that time I met my wife Eileen at a wedding back here in Moline. After school we got married. I worked as an attorney for a couple of years, and now work as in-house council at Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors.
